For North Carolina families with home care

One place where everyone on the care team sees today's schedule.

OurCareDay is made for families with live-in or self-directed caregivers. Who is with Mom right now? Who comes next? Which shift still needs someone? Family, caregivers and your care manager all see the same page, so you can stop piecing the day together from texts and phone calls.

The demo uses sample data. All names are made up.

        What you're looking at

        • Right now and next. The first thing anyone sees when they open OurCareDay.
        • Open shifts stand out. When someone can't make it, the whole team sees the gap and can step in.
        • The day, written down. Meals, medications, exercises and visits, logged by whoever was there.
        • Messages in one place. No more hunting through group texts.

        How it works

Set it up in an evening. Use it every day.

        1. Start a care circle

Add who you're caring for, the hours they need someone with them, and the people who help.

        2. Invite the team

Send a private link to family, caregivers and your care manager. Each person sees only what they need. Caregivers don't see costs.

        3. Open it to see today

Everyone sees today's schedule first, logs what happened, and messages in one place. Share a clean summary with the doctor when you need to.

Everything the care team needs, all in OurCareDay

        Shared schedule

Who's covering each shift, this week at a glance. Gaps in coverage are flagged. A caregiver who can't make it taps one button, and the family sees it.

        Messages

One conversation for the whole care team, kept with the schedule and the log instead of scattered across texts.

        Daily care log

Meals and exactly what they ate. Medications and the time given. Exercises, physical therapy, appointments, games and conversation, shopping with receipts. Blood pressure readings the caregiver helps take, written down as-is.

        Care plan

One page everyone can read: the daily routine, medications, meals, exercises, doctors, safety notes and who to call. The family keeps it up to date.

        Activity photos

Caregivers can add a photo to any activity or appointment. Family sees it the same day and can download it.

        Hours and costs

Track caregiver hours against approved hours, log expenses, and see how costs split between family members.

        Doctor summary

Pick the dates and what to include. Print it, save it as a PDF, or paste it into a patient portal message. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

        Plainly said

        What it is not

        • Not medical advice. It records what caregivers see. It does not judge readings or make care decisions. A blood pressure reading is written down exactly as taken, with the note your family and doctor agreed on.
        • Not a replacement for a care manager. A care manager can still oversee care and connect your family to more help. OurCareDay gives them better information.
        • Not a home care agency. It doesn't send or hire caregivers.
        • Not an official Medicaid or government tool. It can help you track approved hours, but it doesn't file anything for you.

        A note from the founder

I'm a child-and-family social worker in North Carolina, and I also help care for my mother-in-law. I've seen how much families carry: the schedule in one person's head, the texts flying back and forth, the worry about whether anyone is coming tonight.

I'm building OurCareDay to make that work a little lighter, so everyone who loves and cares for someone can see the same day, in one place.

        Questions

        Questions families ask

        Is my family's information private?

Right now OurCareDay is in a preview, and it uses sample data only. The demo on this page and the sample app save everything only in your own browser. Nothing is sent to us. Before real families enter health information, a lawyer will review our privacy policy and terms. When the shared version opens, each care circle will see only its own information.

Do you use ad trackers or sell data?

No. This site and the app have no ad trackers, no advertising, and no analytics that follow you around the web. We don't sell family information.

Can a caregiver write down blood pressure readings?

Yes. A caregiver can log a reading they help take, with the time and who took it. The app shows your family's "call the doctor if above" note next to it. It never interprets the numbers or gives medical advice.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It opens in the web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There's nothing to install.

We use CAP or another self-directed program. Does it fit?

It was designed with North Carolina live-in and self-directed care in mind. You can track each caregiver's hours against approved hours. It is not an official program tool and does not submit timesheets for you.

Does it replace our care manager?

No. It's a shared notebook and schedule for the whole team. Care managers can use it too, to see each family's day and step in early.

        When can we start?

We're inviting a small number of North Carolina families to try it first. Email hello@ourcareday.com to ask about joining.
